Hi, my mother had started this plan from 75 kgs. For the first time, she lost 5 kgs, but then regained. And in the next two cycles, she lost only 2-3 kgs in each. This is the fourth time she is doing this (this is fifth day). She has thyroid and B.P problems. She also has problem with knees. Her knees lack lubricant,so her legs aren't able to take up her weight. She has been recommended not to walk, or sit with bending/folding legs, even on chair. And has been told by docs TO BRING HER WEIGHT TO 40-45 KGS ANYHOW...Today her weight is 68.5 kg. Please suggest something as this seems tooo difficult...
Thankyou :)

yeah..for the first few times she did, she was having no sugar. But she felt very dull and weak throughout this plan. Thought her sugar level had gone down. So next time when she did, she had some sugar in tea (limited quantity) and 2-3 cashews and raisins in the morning (for the carbohydrates-she felt strengthened after having some) and this way she felt fine..

Instead of having sugar in tea, she could have opted for a fruit to balance her glucose level (if it has lowered).

I dont think that consuming cashews can help in any way. In fact, it is highly recommended to avoid nuts and dry fruits during any weight-loss program.

Still, I would wait Kevin to answer your question as he is the right person to do so.

Well drinking any sugar drink or taking any sugar at all is literally and slowly killing your body. It's toxic.

Funny, and I did not myself, most folks don't realize the key to balancing blood sugar, etc is by eating good fats, the right amount of protein and balanced meals.

Minhaj is correct. If you need to lose weight, it means you are totally metabolically broken. Hence you should never have any sugar, you should avoid dried nuts and fruits as well. I'm sure those things did make her feel better, but not in the way that's OK. Basically it's called dopemine, and the only thing you are doing is feeding that. Your dopemine levels take 30 days minimum to reset. So when you cut bad foods, your body will seemingly reduce in energy, you may feel lethargic and detoxy.

However, off the diet plan is she sugar and gluten free?

If she is not, sorry to say I cannot help nor do I see a way she will ever heal or get better. I just scientifically have no clue how it's possible, Her diet must be pure and perfect. It must be nutrient dense and balanced.

Thanks Kevin, for your piece of information. It's very helpful. :)

She will be sugar and gluten free now..

Is it necessary to take fruit juices on day 7, as most of the fruits mentioned for the diet: watermelons, citrus fruits, bananas etc. are cold by nature. Cold or sour things doesn't suit her, especially in winters. Last time she took yellow melon on third day, and orange juice on day 7, and developed swelling in her body, which affected her weight, and thus her legs. This time too, it happened with the Orange juice took on day 7. Other fruits such as apple, papaya, guava are not so juice friendly...It's going to be too cold here. So any tips for her for winters..?

I must tell you that she doesn't have gall bladder and uterus (was operated for that). So is she fit to follow this diet..?

Thanks for any reply...:)

No it is not needed to take juices at all.

The problem for her and like most people needing to lose weight is that she is metabolically broken. So juices are like drinking sugar. Well first, without a gallbladder she needs digestive help from a good and specific digestive enzyme (this is a must, she has no holding tank for bile so the liver will constantly drip it. She seeds support for that big time. She should also only ever eat fast like coconut oil that are easy on the digestion because of the lack of gallbladder.

Fruits should only ever be no more than 2 servings a day for someone like here (me as well).

Without a gallbladder she needs to focus solely on nutrient dense foods. THIS IS A MUST! Always keeping in mind her lack of gallbladder in what she eats.

Well, does the place you read that support what they say? Most likely not, hence the danger of just believing everything you read without it being a good source. Telling you a 3 day gap will bring you back to the site more. I care about the health of the people here most of all. Hence I backup what's here.

Sure, sugar and gluten free would be great. But make sure her meals are balanced with good fat, protein and veg and of course some good carbs. That should really help :)
