Tips to success on the GM Diet

Many people lose good weight on this diet. There are usually common reasons as to why they do.
1) They don't cheat! Never.
2) They plan for a weeks worth of food. We tell you how to eat so buy the food and prep in advance. This is a common tip for any successful eating plan.
3) They stick to the foods listed. Now if you're vegetarian or vegan, yes you have to make substitutes, but be wise. For example, if you are substituting something for for beef, get the right amount of protein that the beef would have had along with fat.
4) Have an accountability partner.
5) Set a goal weight.
6) Be ready to eat healthy afterwards.
7) EAT!!!! this is not a see how can eat the least diet. If you don't eat you will fail.

Have fun!

Great grocery list, we plan our weeks out every week, helps us to stay focused and on track with our after diet plan! Thanks for sharing....
Here are a few things I’ve learned as I am now doing this for the 8th time in 14 weeks:

I took some advice from all of these pages and combined them…and I seldom cheat (ok, I have caved for a late night cashew butter and banana on whole wheat bread a few times).

There are several recipes for the Wonder Soup…many which call for Lipton Soup mix. Since that is high in sodium, I made the soup as follows:

6 Large Onions, 2 Green Peppers (I used jalapeños instead, which I highly recommend!), 2 Whole Tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 large Head Cabbage, 1 Bunch Celery (I use the leaves too), 28 oz, Water,. Coarsely chop everything.
Wilt the onions and celery in 1 teaspoon of olive oil for about 5 minutes, then add the water and everything else. Season with salt (as little as you can stand) and pepper and any other herbs you may choose. Cook for an hour.

1. Eat the Wonder Soup whenever you get hungry, except for day 1
2. Have a pint of cherry tomatoes handy for day 2. There is a midday energy drop and ½ a pint of them will get you right as rain in a few minutes.
3. Try to do some form of exercise each day…but do not over do it as you will run out of energy, especially on day 2. I do 20 minutes of yoga or Pilates each day.
4. Get creative on veggie recipes…just keep the olive oil to a teaspoon per dish
5. Make banana smoothies on day 4. It is much more palatable than trying to eat 8 bananas whole
6. I am lactose intolerant, so I use rice, almond or soy milk on day 4 with the bananas
7. DRINK as much water as you can
8. Do not drink more than 2 glasses of wine or beer a day. NO HARD ALCOLHOL – that includes vodka!!

Excellent post !!!!:)
Hi Kevin,

Can I cheat .. Feeding kids makes me cheat .. My 1 st day I ate 1cup rice .. Is it ok?
not really, sorry.... but keep going....
I am asking u this to know if I shld cont with day 2 or start it all over again
go ahead and keep going. although it's fine to start over as well. Hang in there :)

tomorrow i will be doing day 2... for breakfast is a potato what is better boiled or baked? also for dinner it says broccoli couliflower and asperugus so how much would i intake of each?... or if i mixed them how much would it then be?
i like boiled, baked too dry. eat as much as you want really. Mix how you want or leave 2 out. no matter :)
so tomorrow is day 4 for me and i have a few questions 1- is there a mid morning and afternoon snack in day 4? and if so would it still be 2 times mid morning 10-11am and afternoon 4-5pm and would that be the banana shakes?.... 2- and the shake recipe that is on the website says it make 2 servings do we drink them both or 1 serving and one for later?..... 3- and in the cabbage soup if i dont like green peppers or onions what other vegetables would be great to substitute those? am i correct we should have consumed 4 bananas by the end of day 4???5- do we drink water on day 4 and how much?.... thank you! real quick there are 2 banana shake recipes which one is best to follow? i dont want to consume more bananas then suppose to- 2 cup milk 1 banana 2 ice cubes or 2 cups of milk 2 bananas and 4 ice cubes?:)
4 bananas all day, yes you can have both servings.
you can have soup, and water of course. Make the soup with veg you like, no problem if you don;t like the peppers and such. Your times are correct and are a flexible some. We do time because people tend to skip meals, not good.
real quick for the cabbage soup on day 4 lunch and dinner can i put chicken broth it says is has 0 calories 0 trans fat but 1 gram of sugar is this something that can be added to the soup and could the knorrs boullion cubes be used as well? thank you
well what are the ingredients? Any bad oils? Knorrs you can but best ti just do your own pure spices.
Ok I used chicken broth today it says 0 fats it has 24% sodium and 3% potassium...i hope I didn't mess up.....tomorrow is day 5 for me so for Breakfast it's beef and soup is it the same soup as day 4 just with beef? And How how much beef should be consumed? 2...for dinner what would be the beef soup? Beef with what?....3...would the grilled beef slices be the ingredients for the breakfast meal? And do we eat the whole hamburger patty or 1/2?..thanks again.
It's not so much about the potassium, etc. Is it pure? Is it organic, free range?
Beef do about 3.5 to 4 oz per serving.

cook how you like. rule, never heat meat over 350 degrees if you can, Turns the fat toxic. Cook how you want though.
here is what to eat with it
